Scuba Diving: Sint Maarten is a scuba diving destination. The water temperature is rarely below 70°F (21°C), and visibility is often between 100 and 120 feet. The island has more than forty good dive sites, including wrecks, vibrant barrier reefs, stony labyrinths, sheltered coves, and geologic faults. Wrecks include a tugboat in 25-30 feet of water and the HMS Proselyte once explored by Jacques Cousteau, sitting 55 feet under water.
